Person with hands raised out with sun in background, praising the lord.Have you ever thought just how much you are blessed? Have you ever considered everything God has given you? Praise God! In gratitude praise the Lord for it all! We may not feel that we are blessed a lot, but we are and as His children we should thank Him everyday! For we are blessed everyday by God. He has given us so much freely because of His love for us. (Ephesians 1:6-8)

God Came to Us

He gave us His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. God came down to earth to His creation, lived with us, and then died for us, to pardon us from our sins! God made a way to Him. He healed the wound and great chasm created by sin. He made a way for Salvation from our sin and the consequence of death and separation from God forever. (Romans 3:23-24)

Salvation

God Freely offers salvation. We are saved by His grace only. Nothing we do will gain us salvation, it is only through His mercy and grace. We should always be thankful and praise Him for that. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God could have stopped there. That is what we truly needed was to be saved from our sin, but He didn’t. He keeps blessing and giving to us, because of His great love for us! (Ephesians 1:3-4)

His Blessings Continue

Everyday He blesses us. He Created each of us and gave us Life! He gives us breath each new day and the energy and strength for the day. He provides everything we need. His mercy and grace are new everyday. He is always there for us to listen to us and guide us through anything. He gives forgiveness when we sin. His faithfulness never ends! His Love never ends! Nothing can separate us from His love! He gives us His Holy Spirit freely, when we believe as sign we are His. He gave us His spirit to guide, teach and help us. He is the Best Friend we could Ever have! (2nd Corinthians 9:8)

We are blessed with everything we have. Our skills, abilities and talents are from God. We can praise God with all He has made us to be. God formed us in the womb, each of us uniquely created, perfectly and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14-16, Ephesians 2:10)

Our family, friends, colleagues and church family are blessings. The body of Christ is a blessing to us. We can receive blessings, encouragement, support and strength from others through God. (1 Thessalonians 5:12, Philippians 2:4, 1 Peter 4:8, Ephesians 4:2-3)

Prayer, His Word and promises as well as His Spirit are agifts to us. They lift us up, give hope, bring courage and clarity, show us God’s love for us and teach us how to live in Him. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 16:13)

Nature is a blessing from Him. Look at the beauty of it all around us. It brings comfort and calmness from our busy life. He created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in them. He created them for us and put us in charge to care for it all. (John 1:3)

Everything we have, everything that is good is a blessing from God. He blesses us with our talents, family, friends, kids, pets, job, house, clothes, money, love, and more. Even if you don’t have all those things, thank God for what you DO have. Don’t focus on what you don’t have, focus on what you do have. God has given those things to you. (James 1:17)

During tough times He is there for us. When things aren’t going good He gives us hope, peace and strength. He can turn what is bad into something good. He can make it a Blessing, if we let Him. He can use what is meant for evil for good. Just give it to Him. Praise God for the way He works! (Genesis 50:20, Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 111:4)

He understands and feels our hurt and pain. He offers us His peace and encouragement. He is always there for us. He will never forsake us. Nothing can separate us from Him. He loves unconditionally and forever, no matter our faults and failures in this life. (John 14:27, Romans 8:37-38)

In the storms of life He offers hope. He is in control and offers a steady hand to guide us through. He has plans for good and not harm for us. He is completely in control even in the small and minuscule details of our everyday life. He cares about us that much that He is working for our good in every part and area of our life for each of us. Just trust Him, reach out to Him, put everything in His hands and watch Him work wonders. (1 Peter 5:7, Hosea 6:3, Deuteronomy 10:17-18, Hebrews 4:15-16)

Some things in life are just here to make us smile and laugh, to brighten our day. He gives us sunshine, rain, trees, flowers, food, nature, sunrises and sunsets, other people and much more to bring us happiness, love and support.

He also gave us love and relationships. Love between friends, family, and spouses so we can experience His love for us! Through His Spirit and the Body of Christ as well as Christian Fellowship we also experience His great love for us. (Ephesians 5:1-2)

The Why & How of Praising the Lord

How do we praise and why? What is the purpose of praise? What is the reason for His blessings?

We know we are to praise God, but how do we actively praise Him as we live our lives? How can we incorporate praise into our days?

Why does He bless us?

It’s not only because of His deep love for us, but also to bring glory and honor to His Name. God alone deserves our praise. He sustains all things, gives life, heals, strengthens, lifts up, provides, cares for, comforts and encourages us. Praise is also a testament to God. When others see the blessings He has given us they will praise Him too. They will know God’s character and through seeing God’s work in our lives will be drawn to know Him.

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.

Psalms 34:8

Taste and see that the LORD is good.

How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him.

Why should we Praise Him?

Out of love and gratitude for everything He does for us, we should Praise Him! Think about it, list what God has done for you today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, this year, last year. You will find the list grows fast and goes on and on. Constantly remember and thank Him. Thank Him at the beginning of each day and at the end. Leave everything in His hands and you will be amazed at how he cares for you and blesses you throughout your day.

Psalms 100:5

For the LORD is good.

His loyal love endures,

and he is faithful through all generations.

By praising Him you are welcoming His presence and drawing closer to Him. When you Praise Him focus your mind on Him and all He has done for you. You will realize how great He really is. That He is in  complete control and everything happens in His perfect timing for our good.

We were made to Praise Him. Everything Praises Him in Heaven and on earth for He created all things and is in control, nothing is out of His hands!

Psalms 66:4

All the earth worships you

and sings praises to you.

They sing praises to your name.”

He created us. He knows us fully and even knew us before we were born. He made us and planned our days. He made all things. He made the universe and nature with everything in them. He made it for our pleasure. He gave His life for us. He loves us more than we could ever fathom and hears us when we pray and cry out to Him. He understands and answers us according to His Will. Everything is filtered by His love for us. He sustains and keeps us. His grace and love never ends for each of us!

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Psalms 139:16-18

Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb.

All the days ordained for me

were recorded in your scroll

before one of them came into existence.

Psalms 139:17

How difficult it is for me to fathom your thoughts about me, O God!

How vast is their sum total.

If I tried to count them,

they would outnumber the grains of sand.

Even if I finished counting them,

I would still have to contend with you.

Matthew 10:30-31

Even all the hairs on your head are numbered. So do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

How can we Praise Him?

Praise can happen in many forms including singing, dancing, being still, prayer, lifting our hands to heaven, celebrating and fellowship with other believers.

We can praise Him alone or with others. We can thank God throughout our daily living. We can thank Him as He helps with each thing and part of our day. We can make separate time in our day to praise Him. We can praise Him by the way we live, doing everything for Him. We can live for Him out of gratitude for all He does for us. We can praise Him together with friends or a small group through church. We can praise Him as we read and study His Word.

Pray and thank Him for everything He has given you. Spend time with Him, whether it is with fellow Christians or by yourself in the quiet. Live your life as praise to Him. Love others with the love of Christ and tell them about salvation through Jesus.

We can even use our blessings for Him, to praise Him, to bless others, and lead others to Him. Living for Him is actually the Best way we can Praise God!

Colossians 3:16-17

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God. And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The Israelites were instructed to celebrate many festivals to remind them of all Gods had done for them through the years, especially how God freed them from slavery to the Egyptians.

Deuteronomy 16:1

Observe the month Abib and keep the Passover to the LORD your God, for in that month he brought you out of Egypt by night.

Leviticus 23:42-43

“You must live in temporary shelters for seven days; every native citizen in Israel must live in shelters, so that your future generations may know that I made the Israelites live in shelters when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’”

Praise Him!

All day, everyday, praise the Lord! Think often about what He has done and is doing for you. Write it down and recall it when you’re down and things aren’t going well. It will remind you of God’s goodness and love for you.

God is good, all the time! He created us, gave His life for us, gave us the gift of salvation and His Spirit, blesses us each day, strengthens, encourages, comforts and much more!
