How it all Began

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. He then created the first two humans, Adam and Eve, and placed them in the Garden of Eden. They were allowed to eat or do anything they wanted within the garden except they weren’t allowed to eat the fruit of one tree in the middle of the garden. God told them that. But the Devil (who was an angel that was cast out of Heaven down to “below the earth” because he wanted to be like God) came and tempted them one day and they ate the fruit which brought sin into the world. God hates sin because he is holy.

After they ate the fruit they were cast from the garden. From that moment on every human born after that was born with a sin nature. Sin is anything that the Bible says is wrong. In other words anything you shouldn’t do, but you do, or anything you should do, but don’t do. “For the wages of sin is death” (going to hell-separation from God forever). Things went on with some people believing in God and others not. God didn’t like this so He told the only family that followed him (Noah and his family) to build an ark and to gather 2 of every animal and put them in the ark along with him and his family and that after that was done a huge flood would come and destroy everything else, but they would be safe because they were in the ark. After the flood was over, God made the rainbow as a promise that he will never again flood the earth.

After that things went on, but sin took it’s hold again too. God loved us so much and didn’t want to see us live a life away from him. He longs so much for each of us to know Him personally. So 2,000 years ago he sent His son Jesus (Christ, Jesus Christ, Lord, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Messiah, etc.) to show us HIS GREAT LOVE!!!

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a manger by a virgin (Mary). He was God in human form!! He was fully God and fully human. When Jesus grew up he went around from town to town and taught about God and did miracles. He chose 12 disciples to travel around with him and later sent them out to preach just like he did. But because of sin, people did not recognize Jesus for who we was (God’s Son) and did not believe him. In the scriptures (Bible) prophets had foretold of Jesus and his coming as the Messiah. But most people did not believe and some made plans to kill him. So they tried to trap him with trick questions to be able to accuse him. One of his disciples betrayed him to the leaders in exchange for money. He was arrested tried and found guilty of blasphemy because he claimed to be God’s son and that God was his Father. The leaders viewed him as a threat to their leadership because he spoke of His Kingdom and by saying he was God’s son he made himself equal with God.

Jesus was God’s Son and came to earth to make a way for us to be reconciled with him. He came to be the sacrifice for our sin, for the sins of all, so that if we believe in Him our sin (Past, Present, Future) is forgiven and we are made right with God and become His Child. Jesus was mocked, beaten, spat upon, slapped, whipped and crucified on the cross as a sacrifice for our sin. He took our punishment, God’s wrath towards us for our sin, on himself so we could have a way back to God. He was tempted in every way and did not sin, not even once, so he was a blameless and pure sacrifice accepted by God so anyone who believes will be saved from their sin and the torment of hell. After Jesus died on the cross, 3 days later He rose from the grave, just as He said He would. Shortly after that He ascended back up into heaven through the clouds, but He didn’t leave us, He left His Holy Spirit here to guide us. His Holy Spirit comes to us when we believe and will teach us and help us live rightly, by giving us the power to overcome sins temptation.

If you believe when you die you will go to Heaven to be with God forever, but if you do not believe you will go to Hell and be punished for your sin forever. God could have gave up on us humans and wiped us out or just punished us all for our sin, but in His love he sent His son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for us so we could believe and return to Him. He conquered death and the grave (Hell) to make a way for us!! He is risen and ALIVE today!!

I encourage you to get a Bible (Gods’ Word) and read God’s story for yourself. Find a good Bible believing church to go to, and find some Christian friends who can help you grow in your faith.
