Are You a Good Person?

Share

No, you are not good. No one is good. We all go our own way, the way that seems right to us. But is it right?

We are all sinners, rebellious against God. God sees our sin, our filth and stains of our sins. No one can please God on their own.

Just being a good person is not good enough. We are inherently sinful. Our hearts are bent towards sin. Ever since sin entered the world with Adam and Eve every person born sins is sinful.

God is perfect. God is holy. He does not and cannot sin. He cannot look upon sin because of His holy nature. But God is also love.

In His love He made a way to Himself. He came down to us as a human like us but still fully God. He came and lived among us as one of us.

Jesus is the son of God who came and lived with us. In His nature as God and human, He was sinless but also tempted in every way. He understands us, our temptations, our burdens, our failings. He has compassion on us.

Our sin required punishment so He took our punishment on Himself. He was burdened, tempted, rejected and died a criminals death in our place.

After 3 days He rose from the dead. He conquered death and hell for us. He did this so we would not be separated from Him and we could have life abundantly in Him. Life the way it was meant to be before sin entered the world.

All He asks is that we believe. Believe and confess our sins to Him and He will forgive and forget it. When we believe and give our lives over to Him we will find true life in Him. He will be our guide, joy and hope

Prey and tell Jesus you believe and want Him to lead your life. He is ready with open arms to welcome you in His love.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Romans 10:11 “As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’”

Romans 10:13 “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

To place your faith in Jesus and receive His gift of eternal life you must:

Recognize that you are a sinner and that you need a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Confess (agree with God about) your sins.

Repent of your sins (turn from sin to God).

Ask Jesus to save you by His grace.

Turn over the rule in your life to Jesus. Let Him be your Lord.

Pray this prayer:

Dear God,

Please forgive me for my sins and come into my life. I believe in you and want you to be my Lord. I give everything to you. Thank you for your love and grace and especially for your son. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
