In Christ we have many blessings. We are spiritually rich in our inheritance as His children. God bestows blessings upon us the moment we believe and all throughout our lives with Christ.
We have much to be grateful and thankful for in Christ. Much for which to praise God.
Even when we are in a valley in life and going through tough times, we can remember and think of God’s blessings to us and rejoice in them.
Ephesians 1:3
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.
We Are Chosen
God chose us to be His children before even creation. This has nothing to do with us and all to do with God’s love and freely given grace.
We cannot in any way earn it and it does not make us better than others. God in His love chose us.
God Knew the Future
He saw the fall before it happened. He knew humanities sin and rebellion against Him.
He could have destroyed us all in righteous anger for He is Holy and cannot look upon or tolerate any sin.
God draws all people and longs for all to come to know Him, but He must also be just. We will all be judged someday for how we lived and our choices.
Our Choice Too
We can choose Him now or rebel against Him. He draws us and enables us to come to Him.
Some people listen and others don’t.
We have a choice and when we come to Him we receive His Holiness and blessings and riches in Christ.
Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him in love.
We Are His Adopted Children & Heirs
To those who believe God gives the right to become His children, His heirs.
We are given the privilege of joining Christ in His work on earth and someday to live with Him forever in Heaven.
God is Pleased
He is pleased to bring us back to Him, reconciling us with Himself. God freely gives us grace not only when we accept Him as Lord and Savior, but throughout our life in Him.
Nothing can separate us from God’s love and grace. He offers forgiveness anytime we come to Him.
We Are Heirs of Christ
God has given us the status of being heirs in Christ. We have everything through Him. We can pray and believe and God will give out of His riches.
He supplies all our needs. He supports and sustains us. His Spirit lives in us.
We are each given a purpose and part to do in His Kingdom here on earth and when we get to Heaven.
Ephesians 1:5-6
He did this by predestining us to adoption as his legal heirs through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will—to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.
We Are Redeemed
Through Christ we have been redeemed and reconciled to God. We have a relationship with our creator again through the sacrifice of His son in our place.
We have been forgiven and by His blood made clean.
God’s Grace Lavished Upon Us
His grace and mercy have been poured out on us who believe. He freely gives us grace and peace as we live in Him.
God’s love surrounds us and protects us.
We who were far from God and steeped in rebellion against Him have been brought near to God. He drew us to Himself and we responded in acceptance, believing in Him. We are no longer separated from God.
Our Salvation is Secure
Our redemption is secure and eternal. In God’s riches and great wisdom He brought us to salvation in Him and nothing can take us out of His hands.
We were once dead in our sin until God reached out and opened our eyes and hearts giving us faith and understanding.
He forgave us of our rebellion past, present and future. We cannot return to our old life. He has made us alive in Him and we cannot go back to being lost and dead in sin. He holds us securely.
Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight.
God’s Mysterious Will
God’s plan was revealed. His full plan of salvation and grace was shown when He came to earth and died in our place offering life to all who believe.
He made a way back to Him. He showed all eternity, from creation to the end of times and brought His plan to the climax when He sent His, Jesus.
Set Apart for His Good Plan
God is pleased to offer salvation to anyone who believes in Him and we then become set apart as Holy for His Kingdom plan.
His Spirit is given to live in us and guide us into all truth. When we humbly let God work in us we become more like Him and reflect His glory more and more.
All Things in Christ
God has made all things and has a divine purpose in all.
God works through all.
He can be seen in all creation and in the human spirit.
He will bring His glorious plan to completion someday. In the meantime He is working within us, doing a good work He started at salvation and will continue all our lives.
His good plans cannot be thwarted or taken off track. We may fall and get off track but in the end God will accomplish all He set out to do in the world and our lives.
All things in Heaven and earth are under Christ’s sovereign power.
Ephesians 1:9-10
He did this when he revealed to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ—the things in heaven and the things on earth.
Claimed as His for a Purpose
God has made claim to us that we are His forever. He has given us purpose for our life and eternal life with Him forever.
We were called according to God’s good purpose and plan. He has good work for us to do. He has plans for a hope and future for us.
His Will for Us in Christ
God’s will is to include us in His Kingdom plan. To teach us His ways and make us more like Christ each day. To bring people from every nation, language and people group into His Kingdom.
And to include us in His story that reaches from the beginning of time through all history to the present day.
God gives each of us a part in His purpose according to His grace, bringing glory, honor and praise to God from all creation and humanity.
Ephesians 1:11-12
In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory.
Marked With the Holy Spirit
We can have confidence in our salvation. When we believe we are given the Holy Spirit as our helper and proof of our salvation.
This can never change.
Even though we still sin and sometimes fall hard and deep into sin and find ourselves far from God.
God’s forgiveness and grace are always there. He will always accept us back.
God’s Work in Us
His Holy Spirit is the assurance of our inheritance in Christ of the Kingdom of God. God works by transforming our hearts and minds to His ways in making us in the image of His son.
He gently teaches and guides us every day and every moment. The key is learning to hear and listen to His voice.
Redemption Through Christ for God’s Glory
Praise the Lord! He has redeemed us through Christ sacrifice. Jesus’s blood has washed us completely clean. We are forgiven and free.
Sin no longer has a hold on us. We can choose through the power of God in us through His Spirit.
We are called God’s sons and daughters.
We are called His friends.
God will come to claim us as His own someday either when He returns or when we enter Heaven.
We are the Lord’s special possession.
We are His bride.
He is sanctifying us and refining us into Christlikeness. We are a Holy people, Holy nation set apart for Him.
This is all because we believe by God’s grace towards us.
Ephesians 1:13-14
And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation)—when you believed in Christ—you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.
Our Blessings
When we read His Word and contemplate our life in Christ, we are blessed beyond measure.
We Have so Much in Christ
His riches extend forever. All our needs are met in Him. All His promises are true. He is our friend and companion.
All Because of Him
He did everything for us. He came after us. He worked in our hearts. He made us alive in Him, forgiven in His grace.
We are loved. We are His forever.
