God is magnificent and everything we need. The Lord is our provider and protector. He is our rock and support. He holds everything together and is sovereign over all. He created us and loves us deeply. He sent His son. He died in our place so we could have life in Him through a personal relationship with Him. He knows us fully and longs to be our Lord and Savior. He is our guide and direction. God is our hope and salvation.

Romans 16:27

To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be glory forever! Amen.

God is a Loving Father

God is love. God loves us. His love is unconditional. Everything He does is through His love. Like a parent, He cares, corrects, encourages , supports and nurtures us.

Ephesians 5:2

and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

1 John 4:10

In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

He Cares

God cares about each and every one of us. He longs to be our savior. He sees and understands us. He calls out to us. He draws us to Himself. He knows us and our lives fully. He has compassion and empathy. He will walk with us through every situation and condition in our life.

Psalms 68:19

The Lord deserves praise. Day after day he carries our burden, the God who delivers us.

He Corrects

Just like a loving parent, God corrects and disciplines us. He allows us experience consequences. He teaches us, working within to make us more like Him. He does all this in His love for us. If we listen we find joy in Him. When we fail to listen we will experience what God in His love was trying to spare us from, but we will always find His grace and mercy when we confess our sin to Him.

Proverbs 8:33-36

Listen to my instruction so that you may be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching at my doors day by day, waiting beside my doorway. For the one who finds me has found life and received favor from the LORD. But the one who misses me brings harm to himself; all who hate me love death.”

He Proudly Watches

God takes pleasure in us. He lovingly watches us. He watches us grow in Him. He patiently works in us. He is hurt when we turn away. When we choose our own way over His, He always nudges us to return and waits right where we left Him. He runs to embrace us when we turn back.

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD your God is in your midst; he is a warrior who can deliver. He takes great delight in you; he renews you by his love; he shouts for joy over you.”

God is Faithful & True

God cannot lie. God never changes. God is full of mercy and grace. He does not take pleasure in the death and judgement of sinners, but instead wants them to return to Him.

Ezekiel 18:23

Do I actually delight in the death of the wicked, declares the Sovereign LORD? Do I not prefer that he turn from his wicked conduct and live?

His Presence

Through God’s Spirit in us as His Children we are never alone. God is with us no matter where we go. His presence, promises, power never fail us. He lives inside us and we can never do anything that can separate us from Him.

Romans 8:14-16

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children.

His Promises

God promises a lot in His Word. Every single one we can hold onto and find hope in them. God is true. In His love for us He gave His promises to us. We can pray and claim them over our life and all we experience and go through. He is there for us at all times through all things. Memorize God’s promises in His Word so you can pull from them anytime.

Titus 1:2

in hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before time began.

Psalms 119:38

Confirm to your servant your promise, which you made to the one who honors you.

Romans 4:21

He was fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do.

His Word

God has written to us through His Word. He has penned letters of love, encouragement, hope, conviction, redemption, warning, testimonies, teaching, forgiveness and salvation in His Word. His Word is our true guide and through His Spirit we can understand and learn from God. His Word is God’s instructions to us. His Word is 100% true. We can trust it and learn His ways and how to live in Him.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.

God Takes Pleasure in Us

God takes pleasure in His creation. He created each of us. He made us each unique and gives a purpose to us each. He has a plan for us. His plan, His way is good. He reaches out to us in love.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the LORD. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.

He Rejoices & Sings

His Word says He sings over us. He rejoices over us. He calls us sons & daughters. He has adopted us as His Children. He calls us friends. He rejoices when we turn to Him.

Luke 15:7

I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to repent.

Ephesians 1:5-7

He did this by predestining us to adoption as his legal heirs through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will—to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace.

He Longs for Us

God’s love for us can’t be understood by human standards. We can’t fathom how much He loves us, but His Word tells us, His love is deep, wide, and higher than we can imagine. God longs for us to choose Him, to choose His way. In His love He reaches out through His Word, His Spirit, His Church and many other ways. He wants us to trust Him.

Ephesians 3:18-19

you will be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you will be filled up to all the fullness of God.

He Came to Us

Out of love God came down to us. He lived life. He sacrificed Himself for us. He made a way back to Him after sin broke our relationship with Him. He came into this world to reach us and do what we couldn’t do for ourselves. He came to save us from our sin nature, to make us whole again and restore us to Himself.

Ephesians 1:9-10

He did this when he revealed to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ—the things in heaven and the things on earth.  In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will.

God Comforts Us

God is a God of comfort. He comforts us so we can comfort others in the same way. He understands and feels for us. He grieves with us. He cares for us. He sees us.

2 Corinthians 1:3

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

God Grieves with Us

God feels with us. He feels our pain, sees our grief. He understands because He grieved too. He also gives us hope. Hope of Heaven, hope of restoration, hope of reconciliation, hope to move on, hope for now and the future. We can cry out to Him and trust Him. He is always there for us.

2 Corinthians 1:4

who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Romans 5:5

And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

God Understands

He understands our life. He understands us. He knows what life is like because He lived it too. He knows us fully because He created us. He sees us as we are and He loves us thoroughly. He wants us to turn to Him in any situation and he is ready to help. He will always receive us with open arms.

Psalms 32:7

You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance.

Psalms 18:2

The LORD is my high ridge, my stronghold, my deliverer. My God is my rocky summit where I take shelter, my shield, the horn that saves me, and my refuge.

He Gives & Takes

God guides and directs us. He watches over us. From Him are all things. Nothing that comes into our life that hasn’t gone through Him first. God knows what will help us grow, move us on, take us deeper, get our attention, change us for the better, break away distractions and dependence, allow Him to work in us, and teach us more about Him.

Job 1:21

He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return there. The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away. May the name of the LORD be blessed!”

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
